Sal has been with HCM since 2007 and is charged with overseeing HCM’s field crews as well as performing the most skilled trade work. Sal has been in the construction industry for over 25 years and is an expert craftsman, mechanic, and team leader. While away from work, Sal spends time with his wife Jane and their children Brian, Nick, Jill and Michael. Sal enjoys fishing and coaching travel soccer. He is also involved with coaching the robotics program in his local high school.
Fernando Da Silva
Fernando joined HCM in January of 2015 as a superintendent with over 14 years of experience in the construction industry and a specialized knowledge in carpentry, structural and mechanical work. Prior to HCM, Fernando was a carpentry foreman for almost 10 years working on various commercial framing, drywall and acoustical ceiling projects in the Tri-State area. Fernando has a Construction Project Management certificate from Pace University, a Construction Field Superintendent certificate from NYU, an OSHA 10 certificate and an OSHA 30 certificate. Fernando is also multi-lingual, speaking English, Portuguese and Spanish fluently. His dynamic background, education and strong communication skills makes him an effective leader in the field, a great liaison for our clients and an integral part of HCM. When Fernando is not on a job site or attending an owner’s meeting, he can be found fanatically cheering on the New York Rangers and the Atletico Mineiro, reading and learning about philosophy and politics, listening to music or spending time with his friends and family.
Joe joined HCM in June 2015 as a superintendent with over 25 years of experience in the commercial construction industry. With a background in project management and a specialized knowledge of millwork and finishes, Joe helps keep all of his projects on schedule while never sacrificing quality or safety. When Joe isn’t busy in the field keeping our clients happy, he is spending time with his daughter, McKenna, teaching her how to hunt or coaching her softball team. Joe also enjoys gardening with his wife, Deb, and spending time in the field training his dogs.
HCM was incredibly fortunate to have Al join our team in 2015 as General Superintendent. With over 30 years of experience and a commitment to safety (Al is an OSHA Authorized Construction Trainer), Al is directly responsible for the oversight of all field operations and superintendents. His wide range of experience in carpentry, site work, utilities, ground up construction, pharmaceutical, industrial and retail work has made him an invaluable resource to our entire staff, clientele and subcontractors.
Joe joined HCM in 2015 as a superintendent, and he is responsible for overseeing a variety of commercial projects from tenant fit-outs to large site work projects. His 15 years of experience in the construction industry with a specialized knowledge in electrical work has made him an invaluable asset to HCM. Joe has a degree from William Paterson University and a certificate from the Rutgers Safety Training Program. When Joe is not in the field, he enjoys cooking, coaching baseball, and spending time with his large extended family and his wife, Meghan, and their children, Luca and Anthony.
In the Spring of 2017, HCM was fortunate enough to have Bobby, a retired union carpenter, join as a superintendent. With over 33 years of commercial construction experience, an OSHA 30 certification and an impeccable attention to detail, Bobby has been extremely valuable to us in the field. In his free time, Bobby enjoys coaching youth rugby in Denville, making wine and spending time with his wife, Joanne, and their 5 sons.
In the Spring of 2018, Mike became a full-time member of HCM after graduating from SUNY Delhi with his Bachelors of Technology degree in Construction Management Design & Building. With almost 5 years of experience in the commercial and residential construction industry and having a specialized background in masonry, electrical, plumbing and framing, he has become a dynamic addition to HCM. When Mike is not directing field crews, he can be found boating, fishing, woodworking or attending Yankees and Giants games.
Ryan joined HCM in the Summer of 2016 as a superintendent, primarily overseeing our projects that require flexible schedules and off-hour supervision. With over 10 years in the construction industry, an OSHA 30 certification and a degree in electrical systems from Lincoln Technical Institute, Ryan has been a valuable member of HCM. When Ryan is not working, he enjoys spending time with his family, skateboarding, snowboarding and hiking.
Greg joined HCM in July 2016 as a superintendent with over 30 years of construction experience. With an education in carpentry and a passion for his work, Greg truly understands constructability and quality craftsmanship. Having been in a superintendent role since 2000, he knows how to create a harmonious and safe work site. When Greg is not in the field, he is spending time with his wife and their 6 teenage sons and cheering on the Mets.
In May 2017, Nick joined HCM as a project engineer while he continues his education at Rogers Williams University in Bristol, RI with a major in construction management and minors in business and sustainability. Although Nick only has 4 years of experience in construction, he is eager to learn and has already completed an apprenticeship with an electrician. When Nick is not in the field or at class, he can be found at the Mahwah Fire Department Company 1, where he has been a fire fighter since 2011. He also enjoys being outdoors and spending time with his family and friends.
In the Summer of 2018, Jake joined HCM as a superintendent with over 20 years of management experience in the construction industry. With Jake’s specialized knowledge in concrete and masonry, metal and woodworking, and ability to supervise a wide variety of construction projects, he has made a great addition to the team. When Jake is not in the field, you can find him hunting and fishing with his grandson or lounging by the pool with his family.
